Convertibles/Coupes
If you enjoy having the cool wind flowing through your hair during those summer drives at night, you know you’re a convertible person. Lucky for you, BMW offers several convertible models to choose from that are also available as coupes. Starting with the 4 Series ($45,000 MSRP), redesigned in 2014 from the 3 series, the 2019 models come with more standard equipment than ever before. Available in two trims, the 430i and 440i mostly only differ by engine performance. With the 440i having 78 more horsepower and $7,000 higher MSRP than the 430i, choosing between these two trims mainly depends on how sporty you want your sports convertible to be.
Next, we have the fully redesigned BMW Z4 roadster ($50,000 MSRP). After a brief hiatus of three years, BMW introduced the brand new Z4 for 2019. Available in only one trim for 2019, the 30i comes with a turbocharged engine with 255 horsepower. For 2020 the Z4 adds another trim that offers even more performance, the M40i. Able to go 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, we actually had the pleasure of driving this bad boy around earlier this year, and the Z4 was an absolute blast to drive. To learn more about what features the M40i offers and our opinions on it, check out our review of this gorgeous convertible.
Among the most luxurious convertible/coupe models BMW has to offer is the 8 Series ($88,000 MSRP). Matching the lofty price tag of the vehicle, the M850i is powered by a monster V8 engine with 523 horsepower. It is as comfortable as it is a joy to drive, and if you can afford this palace on wheels, we would recommend leasing this automotive masterpiece.
Family Cars
From a brand known more for its sporty cars, you wouldn’t necessarily expect BMW to offer family-oriented vehicles. However, BMW caters to those with families with their X series of crossovers and SUVs. BMW’s line of SAVs (Sport Activity Vehicles) are their entries into the luxury SUV market. They have multiple variants of their take on a compact crossover, midsize SUV, and large SUV. With some models geared more towards performance and looks, those are not included in this list.
Subcompact Crossover
The best overall subcompact crossover for families from BMW is the X1 ($35,000 MSRP). This relatively cheap luxury crossover is quite spacious and handles very well. Designed to include many areas for cargo storage, don’t let the size of the X1 fool you. With its 27.3 cubic feet of trunk space, the X1 beats its similar-sized competitors in the Audi Q3 and Mercedes GLA. The X1 is also equipped with standard safety features such as forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. All in all, the X1 is a great compact crossover that does many things well and excels when it comes to cargo space and handling.
Midsize SUV
If you’re looking for something bigger, the newly redesigned X5 ($59,000 MSRP) may be the midsize SUV for you. Newly redesigned for 2019, now with more cabin room than ever before. With a 335 horsepower engine and 33.9 feet of trunk space, the X5 isn’t a class leader in either category but excels in each nonetheless. Also featuring BMW’s state of the art iDrive infotainment system, the X5 offers plenty of advanced tech features that will be sure to appease the entire family. An overall tranquil cabin and plenty of tech inside and out, the X5 is a great option for those that are looking for a midsize SUV that can do pretty much everything well.
Large SUV
The realm of large SUVs is very competitive, as Volvo, Audi, and Mercedes all are vying for the large SUV crown. With three rows and seating for up to seven, the BMW X7 ($74,000 MSRP) offers ample head and leg room for you and any passengers you might have. Much like the X5, the X7 doesn’t lead its class in many areas, but it is extremely well rounded and can do a little bit of everything. If you’d like to see our review of the X7 and an in-depth look at all the advanced features it comes with, check out our YouTube channel!
Best Bang For Your Buck
For those looking to get the most for their money, a BMW doesn’t usually come to mind. However, BMW offers a few models that do offer exceptional value for its price tag. After a redesign in 2018, the BMW X3 ($42,000 MSRP) is largely unchanged for 2019. Another spectacular crossover in the BMW lineup, the X3 offers best in class utility, making it incredibly useful for those with families or who pack their car to the brim. The trunk offers 28.7 cubic feet of space, and with the seats down that number swells to 62.7 cubic feet. The X3 is also equipped with a powerful, yet fuel-efficient engine. The four-cylinder pumps out a hefty 248 horsepower and gets an EPA estimated 30 MPG highway. This crossover truly is an example of the ultimate driving machine.
A staple of the luxury sedan class for years, the BMW 3 Series ($41,000 MSRP) seamlessly combines elegance, performance, and comfort. Like the X3, the 3 Series offers exceptional utility with its sizable trunk and 40/20/40-split-folding rear seats. Also boasting superb acceleration and handling, the 3 Series offers plenty of giddy-up, as you would expect from BMW. The iDrive infotainment system is quite advanced and the tranquil interior is chock-full of high-tech features. Perfectly balanced crossed the board, you simply can’t go wrong leasing a BMW 3 Series.
Most Versatile
Yet another fantastic midsize SUV, with a coupe-like body, the BMW X6 (64,000 MSRP) offers many drivers the best of both worlds. A performance SUV, the X6 is fitted with a turbocharged six-cylinder engine with a sporty 300 horsepower. The cabin is quiet and extremely comfortable. The sloped rear end of the X6 limits rear visibility but does add a unique sporty look. Now coming with advanced safety features for 2019, including blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. For tech, you’ll get plenty of creature comforts, as well as a a 10.2-inch touchscreen with BMW emergency communications. If you’re looking for a unique blend of SUV-like storage and coupe-like performance, the X6 is perfect for you.

The BMW 7 Series ($86,000 MSRP) will surpass any expectations you might have in a luxury sedan. Featuring a plethora of the most advanced features on the market, the 7 Series is sure to meet any need. Audiophiles will also rejoice in this car with its 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Highlighted by pristine refinement and exemplary attention to detail, the 7 Series exhibits why its among tops in its class. In a sedan as expensive as this, having top tier features isn’t enough. Rest assured the 7 Series delivers in the performance department as well. Kitted with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that pumps out 320 horsepower, you’ll be able to zoom around in style.
Most Fun M
Designed for those who simply enjoy driving, the M2 Competition ($59,000 MSRP) will be sure to sate your need for speed. The M2 is a vehicle with not too many features and focuses on performance and handling. While you won’t be getting the bare minimum, the M2 still comes with some high-quality features. Safety also doesn’t take a back seat as you’ll be getting forward collision warning and mitigation, and lane departure warning. Under the hood of the M2 is a behemoth 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with 405(!) horsepower. Equipped with an engine you might see on a racetrack, the M2 is still viable to use for your commute. It has a comfy cabin and seats that feature lateral bolsters to keep you in place.
